After a string of mysterious disappearances begin to plague a train, the Demon Slayer Corps' multiple attempts to remedy the problem prove fruitless. To prevent further casualties, the flame pillar, Kyoujurou Rengoku, takes it upon himself to eliminate the threat. Accompanying him are some of the Corps' most promising new blood: Tanjirou Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira, who all hope to witness the fiery feats of this model demon slayer firsthand. Unbeknownst to them, the demonic forces responsible for the disappearances have already put their sinister plan in motion. Under this demonic presence, the group must muster every ounce of their willpower and draw their swords to save all two hundred passengers onboard. Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen delves into the deepest corners of Tanjirou's mind, putting his resolve and commitment to duty to the test.

Encoder's Notes

Sony put the movie up on PlayStation store, so we have an early release for it. However, the sources we were working with are far from ideal and had every issue you could think of: blocking, banding, ringing, detail loss, aliasing, haloing, washed out colors, you name it. We applied appropriate and somewhat heavy filters to fix these, but lost detail is something no one can bring back. With that said, I feel the end result is quite watchable.

Coming to subs, this is a moderate-effort edit of the official subs, which is retimed almost from scratch, fixes some obvious mistranslations, has similar styling and terminology as Kaleido-Flax, and some memes as well. It just reads better overall, since Aniplex butchered lots of important dialogue. Seriously, stay away from official subs if you wanna enjoy this movie. While the edits are significant enough to make a difference, given the rushed nature of this release, it’s not as polished as it could’ve been. However, we’re planning on reworking and ironing these subs out for the BD release over the next few weeks.

As always, if you spot any mistakes, be sure to let us know. And if you liked our work, be sure to let your friends know!

If you can wait till June 16th, we’d suggest that you do.
The question is: can you, though?

I read the manga and this is crazy amazing.

Serviceable plot with unique setting with impressive mix of 2D and 3D animation. OST is splendid. Bonus points for minimal Zenitsu screaming
