It all started in Kaminoyama High School, when five best friends—Aoi Miyamori, Ema Yasuhara, Midori Imai, Shizuka Sakaki, and Misa Toudou—discovered their collective love for all things anime and formed the animation club. After making their first amateur anime together and showcasing it at the culture festival, the group vow to pursue careers in the industry, aiming to one day work together and create their own mainstream show. Two and a half years later, Aoi and Ema have managed to land jobs at the illustrious Musashino Animation production company. The others, however, are finding it difficult to get their dream jobs. Shizuka is feeling the weight of not being recognized as a capable voice actor, Misa has a secure yet unsatisfying career designing 3D models for a car company, and Midori is a university student intent on pursuing her dream as a story writer. These five girls will learn that the path to success is one with many diversions, but dreams can still be achieved through perseverance and a touch of eccentric creativity.

Encoder's Notes

Myaa-nee— Wait wrong show.
This is an anime about making anime.
A sequel movie coming in a few weeks is out and but there are no subtitles available at the moment. I’ve been told that there’s a group working on it so we should hopefully be seeing a release soon someday.

What’s new? The dual audio encode. Made from my own remux of the JPBD video and the dub added from USBD with modified LNS subtitles taken from CTR’s release. I also made a signs and songs track to be watched with the dubbed audio track.

Cthuko/LNS/CTR for the subtitles
taskforce and Lupin the Nerd for the USBD
and… can’t remember where I got the JPBD from lmao

Would you like to learn about how the thing you’re watching is made? Give this a go.

Aoi is perfect.

Insightful look into the anime industry. I developed a lot of sympathy for animators and everyone working on series while watching this.

A beautiful and insightful love letter to anime and the people who make it, an abesolute must see for those intested in anime production!

Good watch but don’t take it too seriously or you’ll spend the show asking why half the characters haven’t been fired already

5 girls all want to work on anime in the future. This is the story of how anime is made and how they fight to achieve those difficult dreams

Not as insightful into goings ons of the anime industry as much as it could be, but it does a good job humanizing the people in that field.

I make bad encodes and whine about subs and if I'm feeling particularly memey, I make bad subs too!

    CoyoteStarrk (Kaycee)

A hooman who hates anime. PS: Get me a Doge pls :/ for I am Japanese Inside *inserts Intel logo in Jap*
